About nfbra

NFBRA was organized in the spring of 1939 by 14 Racing Outboard Hydroplane drivers. It is the oldest boat racing club on the Niagara Frontier. The original Board of Directors in 1939 were Bob Grabau, Raymond DeGlopper, Olive Howard, Ken Wolff and Arthur Baitz.

NFBRA’s objective is to promote boat racing on the Niagara Frontier.

Our members have gained recognition throughout the United States and Canada for racing skills, fast  boats, sportsmanship and world records. Today’s membership of over 50 consists of owners, drivers, mechanics and those with a genuine interest in further developing and maintaining boat racing on the Niagara region. We have, for the past 20 years, enjoyed racing at Gratwick Park in North Tonawanda. Our goal is to continue to make it one of the premier locations to race.

Membership is open to those interested in the sport. Applications can be requested via mail addressed to the club at 4068 East River Rd. Grand Island, NY 14072. Meetings are presently held the third Tuesday of every month at 6 PM at the Grand Island Rod and Gun Club.
